Thanks for stopping by. My site covers:

Summaries of each of these follow...

Antique Bicycles

In the Antique Bicycles section (last updated on November 5, 2003) I have:

  • How to contact the Wheelmen, a national club for riders and collectors of antique cycles.
  • Names and addresses for reputable Replica Highwheel makers.
Updated with more information on Jacques' replica highwheel 11/5/2003
  • What to look for in a Replica Highwheel.
  • Saddle pattern for the 2nd through 4th Kirkpatrick Saddle.
  • Pictures from 1880-1890 bicycle catalogs
  • Pictures of me and other Wheelmen Members

On a separate serverI have the story of my trip to the 2002 Wheelmen Annual Meet.

Reprint Antique Bicycle Catalogs

In the Reprint Antique Bicycle Catalog section (updated January 30, 2006):

In 2004 and 2005 I sold reprint catalogs, but the market was too limited and my time too scarce to scan, clean, print, and bind the catalogs. I've donated my remaining stock to the Wheelmen; contact the publications chairman if you want to buy a copy.

Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen

In the Kenny Ball section (last updated January 5, 2003) I have:

  • Links to CD sellers that carry some Kenny Ball CDs.
  • Links to used LP sellers that sometimes have Kenny Ball LPs and 45s.
  • eBay search link for Kenny Ball items.
  • Link to the Clevedon Jazz Club (Sommerset, UK) website.
  • Track Listings for selected Kenny Ball CDs and LPs. I've been buying more on eBay lately, and have 5 more LPs posted. Not only that: I have access to a digital camera, and so have LP cover photos now!

Links

In the Links section (last updated December 8, 2004) I have links to whatever web sites interest me, such as:

  • Bicycles.
  • Floor Lamps.
  • Macintosh News.
  • Scripting News.
  • Family and Friends.
  • And more!

Macintosh

In the Macintosh section (last updated May 18, 2004) I have:

  • An AppleScript to display the first 250 characters in a text file; useful if you work with HUGE text files (I work with text files 10+ megs) and just want to see what's at the beginning of one.
  • Version 1.1.1 of my utility to export HyperCard field text to a tab-delimited file.
  • My shareware program "How Many Days".
  • HyperCard utilities, mostly useful for working with undelimited mainframe data.
  • Some AppleScript utilities and templates
  • My Dvorak Keyboard Layout (for OS 9 and earlier), based on the Dvorak layout SMC Typewriters had as an option years ago.

MacManagers

In the Mac Manager's Job Digest Unofficial Archives section (Updated January 31, 2005) I have:

  • The weekly listing of the Mac Manager's Job Openings and Jobs Wanted.
Notice: January 31, 2005
I finally got too busy to keep this up, and have 'retired' from my voluntary position of Unofficial Archiver. When (and if) someone takes my place, I'll post the link here.

Requests for Assistance

What do you do with all those scam letters you get from people asking for help in transferring millions of dollars out of their county? I post the ones I get on the Requests for Assistance page (updated September 15, 2003). I've gotten over 230 since I started.

Just to make it clear to everyone: these are scams. Please don't actually write to the authors.

The novelty has worn off for me, so I'm not posting any more. Well, if I get a really good one, I might. But don't count on it.

MacToday Magazine Elabarations

Some of you may be asking, "Where are the MacToday Elaborations?" They're showing their age, as the youngest is about five or six years old. I've taken them off the navigation bar, but you can find them in my MacToday Elaborations section (last article for the March/April 1999 issue). These are the elaborations to the scripting articles Laura Lunetta and I wrote for MacToday Magazine, 1996-1999.
